We Have Arrived!
Well, I didn't know how the travel day was going to go gauging by the events early on. I woke up, realized I slept through my alarm, so didn't have the extra packing time I needed. As I was off to work, I hit a rock near the driveway (long story). And, as Mike was there to see it, we realized the car we need to take to the airport, or my car, had a flat tire (apparently, I drove over a huge nail). Went to work, got home, and mass chaos getting out the door. Thankfully Ann helped me get my pictures ready for court because the computer decided to be termperamental on a day that we didn't need it to. Thanks Ann!!!! But, off we were, majorly overpacked.
At any rate, made our flight from Detroit, and then we had to connect through Paris to get to Moscow. Mike's quote "this is on my top 10 least favorite aiports." We landed out in the middle of some field far away from the terminal with connection flights, got herded onto the runway, then on a bus, and drove around the airport literally in big circle. Well, we had 45 minutes for our connection from landing time. Needless to say after running our behinds off after the scenic airport tour, no plane at the gate. Amazingly, I did not panic. We went to the counter, got on a flight that was 3 hours later. I passed 1.5 of the hours trying to figure out how to make an international call from Paris to Moscow to inform our ride that we would not be there and we would be 3 hours late. Finally, I figured it out.
We got into Moscow around 6:30, waiting forever to clear "passport control," then waiting for our ride that was stuck in a huge traffic jam, and are finally here. Remember overpacked? Well, the driver/coordinator was not impressed with our ability to not limit our items. I was told don't bring that much next time around (with baby stuff and all, and he was way serious).
So........I cannot believe it but our hearing is now hours away, at 10:00 a.m. So, hopefully, by noontime here we will have news. We also get to go visit Zachary every day between now and Saturday which I am thankful for. (Saturday was questionable because it is not a working day) We are 8 hours ahead of Michigan time. So, when it says 4:47 p.m. post time, that is really 12:47 a.m. post time.
And, for any fellow traveling families that are in Russia or anyone else that wants contact information, Mike and I are in the Courtyard Marriott, Room 522, hotel telephone number 70959813300. I was looking forward to meeting up before court for moral support with the Peludats, Everys and Spooners, but was unable to get through to the Spooners and was not successful in getting transferred using their anticipated hotels either. Hopefully tomorrow.
Well, signing off to get my sleep. Hopefully, next time will be some real anticipated news?!?!?!

Yay! I've been thinking about you and I'm glad you're there safe and sound. I'll be counting the minutes until Zachary is yours. You and Mike deserve everything wonderful.
